2010 Student Award Recipient

Congratulations to Ms. Vicky Hunt, winner of the 2010 Division of Fungi Student Travel Award. Vicky received her BSc in Biology from the University of Bath, and her MSc in Ecology from the University of Wales, Bangor. She is currently a PhD student in Entomology under the supervision of Professor Keith Charnley at the University of Bath (UK).  She will be presenting two papers at the SIP meeting entitled ‘Cold-seeking behaviour in Drosophila during mycosis: consequences for host and pathogen’ co-authored with Prof. Keith Charnley & Dr Nick Priest, and ‘The inhibitory effect of the fungal toxin, destruxin-A, on behavioural fever in the desert locust, Schistocerca gregaria’ co-authored with Dr Gary Lock and Prof. Keith Charnley.
